September 18th, 2001:Whew! Nyarlathotep has had quite a summer! Over 150 copies sold, three screenings, a number of articles and it's only getting better! Check out the Essays section for three new reviews! The 8th Annual H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival is coming up in October, and the 1st Annual Portland Festival of World Cinema in Portland Maine is too! So which ever coast you're on, October is the month to catch the film on the big screen. Also check out my new film, An Imperfect Solution.

February 7th, 2001: The movie is done and is ready for purchase! It clocks in at around 13 minutes, is in black and white, and is available on VHS. These tapes will only be available for a limited time, as my eventual goal is to be on the third Lurker in the Lobby video compilation. As soon as work begins on that tape I will discontinue selling Nyarlathotep off this site as I don't want to detract from sales of the Lurker III tape. So, buy it while it's hot! January 4th, 2001: The voice-over has been recorded. All that's left is the score and a final polish!

October 12th, 2000: Photos from the final night of shooting are in Behind the Scenes. Editing is in full swing.

September 8th 2000: The twelth and final day of filming is done! The scenes at the ocean are shot and principle photography is completed. During editing a few more shots might need to be done, but for all intents and purposes the film is in post production.

September 3rd 2000: The eleventh day of filming is done! The scenes in the deserts of Egypt have all been shot, and with great results! The one and only Desert of Maine stood in admirably for the Sahara. Photos are available in Behind the Scenes.

August 4th 2000: The tenth day of filming is complete! All the night-time crowd shots are finished. Photos coming soon. We're nearing the end!

July 19th 2000: The ninth day of filming is complete! The opening shot of Arkham, including a cameo by James Cagney's grandson has been shot. Photo's coming soon! Coming up: Friday, August 4th at 8:30 PM in Portland, Maine I will be shooting the night time crowd shots from the end of the story. If you will be in the area let me know! I'm looking for extras!

July 13th 2000: The eighth day of filming is complete! Dr. Burke's flashback to his experiences in the Great War have been shot. Expect photos soon. Also, to defray editing costs, I am now looking for donations! Click here to learn more.

July 5th 2000: Added a gallery of photos of Dan as Nyarlathotep, and a new set of Nyarlathotep wallpapers are available for download in Behind the Scenes.

June 26th 2000: The seventh day of filming is complete! Dan Harrod as Nyarlathotep in the laboratory and on the streets of Arkham are filmed.

June 21st 2000: The sixth day of filming is complete! Nyarlathotep's show is completed with footage of Dan Harrod. Photos are now in Behind the Scenes.

June 11th 2000: Crawling Chaos Pictures has finally aquired its own equipment, the second half of filming will begin soon! More photos from the third and fourth days of filming, including Nyarlathotep's monster arm are coming soon!

May 11th 2000: Close-up shots for the climax of Nyarlathotep's show are filmed.

May 9th 2000: The fifth day of filming is complete! The crowd that comes to see Nyarlathotep's show has been filmed, Nyarlathotep's laboratory has been filmed, and a whole slew of reaction shots are in the can. The film is now half done!

April 27th 2000: Photos from the second and third days of filming are now in Behind the Scenes. The Cast page has been updated.

April 13th 2000: The fourth day of filming is complete! The final scenes in Dr. Burke's apartment building and the climax of the film where both filmed.

April 9th 2000: The third day of filming is complete! The scenes involving a 1920's soldier were shot even with gale force winds threatening to send all our bowlers and slouch hats flying into the street. Photos are now in Behind the Scenes.

March 30th 2000: The second day of filming is complete! The paperboy scene, a shot in front of the theatre where Nyarlathotep will perform his show, and all the footage in Dr. Burke's apartment is done! Photos are now in Behind the Scenes.

March 15th 2000: The first day of filming is complete! The snow scenes at the climax of the film are now finished! Photos are now in Behind the Scenes.

March 4th 2000: Due to budget concerns we have switched to Digital Video. Rob Wilber joins the crew.

January, 2000: Nyarlathotep is mentioned in Andrew Migliore and John Strysik's "Lurker in the Lobby" book.

August 15th, 1999: The Official Site goes online.

July, 1999: Dan Harrod is cast as Nyarlathotep.

March, 1999: Jon Dearney joins the crew and the decision is made to film on 16mm instead of video. There is much rejoicing.

January, 1999: The first scene is filmed on video. It is later discarded.

December, 1998: Plans begin to make a Lovecraftian film on video. Storyboards for Nyarlathotep are drawn by Christian Matzke.
